“whenever someone posts a “fake anime screenshot” drawing my reaction is always, with no exception, “you don’t watch a lot of anime, do you””

do you think I deeply consider the lack of genuine anime-ness in a “fake anime screenshot” 

do you think I consider these fake anime screenshots as trash of drawings because they do not live up to my personal standard of anime-ness

because i don’t that androgynous character starring your personal picture is indeed very kawaii and the drawing is pretty nice

it does, in fact, look like it would be straight out of my splendid japanese animes if the lineart was rendered appropriately 

but it’s in a painted style 

i pride myself in my splendid repertoire of the animes i watch on a weekly basis and the stylistic evolution and i think we can both come to agree that none of these animes are animated in a painted style, and my only point was merely to illustrate that a really bizarre amount of people seem to miss this fact with proof

When something’s a fake something it should probably look like the thing it’s trying to imitate.

So e.g. a fake-mon that’s trying to be passed off as real shouldn’t have really realistic proportions, and a fake anime screen should look more budgeted and less tenderly nursed to its current state

but regardless

you’re still a jerk for reblogging my old art straight from the source in a way that i could see it

and calling me and others out on not doing our art “the right way”
